Jayakumar is a freelance photographer. He started his career in photography in 2007. Since then he has been working with educational institutions such as RMK Group of Schools & Colleges Chennai; Surya Group of Institutions, Villupuram; Kongunadu College of Education Namakkal; industries such as Manpro Equipments Pvt. Ltd, Chennai;IRICO – Inspection and NDT Engineers, Chennai; Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan in Chennai; Ramakrishna Math Chennai; Velan Group of Companies, Tiruppur; and also has been travelling extensively shooting stock photographs for Shutterstock, istock etc.
Whether the purpose of the image is to convey an idea or to show the subject's personality, his style is based on simplicity, engagement and creative light. Through constant research for new techniques and attention to lighting, composition and detail he is always looking for new and creative ways to bring uniqueness into his photography. He truly loves working with light, forming and shaping it to convey emotion and interest. Whether the image creation takes place in a studio or on outdoor locations, light becomes his raw material in the creative process and the essential defining characteristic of his photographs. However, he believes that exceptional photographs can only be taken in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and therefore makes every effort to make sessions as enjoyable as possible and puts his clients at ease.
He also offers photo workshops and classes which aim to assist amateur photographers develop their interest and skill.
